ANTHONY WAIN
ANTHONY WAIN DIRECTOR | Pr Larch BSc (Hons) HORT MA (LArch) MILASA
Anthony Wain obtained degrees in Horticultural Science, BSc and Masters in Landscape Architecture in the U.K before emigrating to South Africa. He joined Planning Partners in 1988 and became a Director in 1996, establishing the landscape section of the firm. He has worked on many major projects both in South Africa and internationally.

In his spare time he conserves Fynbos and chases border collies.

JACO JORDAAN
JACO JORDAAN DIRECTOR | Pr Larch B.LArch (Hons) MILASA
Jaco Jordaan obtained his degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pretoria in 1990. He Joined Planning Partners in 1995 and became a Director in 2011. He is the hands-on driver of the management of the company. Jaco has a strong background in all spheres of Landscape Architecture and practice management.

In his spare time you will find him tending to his bonsai collection or scouring single track trails on his mountain bike. He is also an avid music, food, wine and classic car enthusiast.

MAURITZ VAN DEN HEEVER
MAURITZ VAN DEN HEEVER SENIOR ASSOCIATE | B.Art.et.Scien. (Planning)(T&RP)
Mauritz van den Heever obtained his degree in town and regional planning from the University of Potchefstroom for C.H.E. (North-West University) in 1995. He joined Planning Partners in October 1997 and has since moved through the ranks to become a valued team member as a senior associate, specialising in urban and regional planning, development planning and management, policy and statutory process.

Mauritz is a self-confessed “water baby”, and revels spending time doing anything involving water, including fishing, diving, boating or simply catching a good wave. He is a passionate nature lover, be it ocean or land.

JACQUES E. DOHSE
JACQUES E. DOHSE SENIOR ASSOCIATE | Pr Larch B.Larch (Hons) MILASA
Jacques Dohse obtained his Bachelor’s Honours degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pretoria in 1994. He joined Planning Partners in 2000 and was appointed as an Associate in 2004. An award-winning Landscape Architect with broad experience in all aspects of landscape architecture, he specialises in designing to a level of detail that adds value to property products and the environment.

With a passion for mountains and valleys, Jacques has hiked all South Africa’s major mountains. Recently setting his view on foreign shores, has hiked up a Volcano in Bali and climbed to the Lycian Ruins in the mountains of Turkey.

TREVOR DIX
TREVOR DIX SENIOR ASSOCIATE | B.Arch
Trevor Dix obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Natal in 1993. In 1995 he moved outdoors, making the transition to the discipline of Landscape Architecture while working at Ian Ford and Associates, one of the first landscape architects to establish a private practice in Cape Town. He joined Planning Partners in 1999 and has had the opportunity to undertake a diverse and full range of landscape architectural projects, specialising in conceptual landscape drawings, master planning, detail working drawings, cost estimation and quantification, contract documentation, and project supervision.

Trevor takes inspiration from being outdoors in the Gods’ den, in or under the water or up the mountain, following natural action.

PAUL SATZ
PAUL SATZ SENIOR ASSOCIATE | B.Tech (T&RP) SACPLAN A/1508/2012
Paul Satz obtained his B.Tech from Cape Technikon (CPUT) in 1996 and graduated cum laude. He joined Planning Partners in 1997 and became an Associate in 2011 Paul is a professionally registered Town and Regional Planner with 24 years of experience in various fields including all manner of land use management applications, as well as having a detailed knowledge of the “Package of Plans” process.

Paul is an avid reader and enjoys being on the beach with his dog.

ANTOINETTE JAMES
ANTOINETTE JAMES SENIOR ASSOCIATE | N.Dip Horticulture
Antoinette James obtained her National Diploma in Horticulture from Pretoria Technikon in 1991. She joined Planning Partners in 1996 and became an Associate in 2011. She is a specialist planting designer and has broad experience in the field of landscape architecture from the onset of a project to its conclusion.

Antoinette enjoys gardening or working on renovation projects. She loves photography, music, her sausage dogs and her robot vacuum cleaner, Robert.

TIM FLORENCE
TIM FLORENCE ASSOCIATE | BSc (Property Studies)(Hons) MCRP
Tim Florence obtained a degree in Property Studies in 2008. Seeking to broaden his knowledge, he enrolled for the Masters degree in City & Regional Planning at UCT, for which he graduated with distinction in 2010. He joined Planning Partners in 2011 and was appointed as an Associate in 2019. Tim specialises in compiling statutory applications for private property development schemes, including tall buildings, as well as the preparation of development frameworks with a focus on urban design.

Tim is sport obsessed and is a massive fan of the Proteas, Springboks and Liverpool F.C. He also loves cooking and spending time with his family and friends.

RAINER ENGBERTS
RAINER ENGBERTS ASSOCIATE | Pr Larch BSc (Arch) MProf (LArch)
Rainer Engberts obtained his degree in Architecture in 2011, after which continued his studies in the field of Landscape Architecture, for which he completed his Masters degree from the University of Pretoria in 2014. He joined the Planning Partners team in 2015 and became an Associate in 2019. His responsibilities include conceptual landscape design, master planning, detail working drawings, cost estimation and quantification, contract documentation, and project supervision.

In his spare time you will find Rainer on a football field, wandering the outdoors or spending time with friends and family.

OUR PRACTICE

Planners and designers should encourage as much diversity in human habitats as they find in animal habitats. It is not possible to resolve all conflicts or to gain all ends. Choices have to be made. Different aspects of the public good should be stressed in different places. To achieve variety in land use patterns, there should also be a variety of relationships between the professions...
